the others 和 others 也要规定在2个或2组等等以内吗

1.others 是other的复数
other用作形容词时，意思是“其他的”，指尚未列举提到的部分，其后一般接复数名词。

We study Chinese, English, maths and other subjects.

other作代词时，除习惯用语外，一般不单独使用，但other的复数形式，即 others则可单独使用，泛指“别人；其它的东西”。

We should do good to others.
2.the others是the other的复数
the other用作代词，指两个人或两个事物中的“另一个”，the other的复数形式是the others，意思是所指定的范围内的“其余的；剩下的（物体或人）”。

I have a book in one hand and a pencil in the other (hand).

I have three books. One is about English, the others are about Chinese.

others明显多余两个
因为如果另外是一个就用单数other了，而不是others
