offer afford provide意思都为提供时用法的区别?

the number of用法的区别

afford:买的起。指的是购买能力。一般要和情态动词can或者can't 一起用
offer:主动提供（帮助等）。侧重于一方的主动性
provide sb. with sth., provide sth. for sb ：单纯指为某人提供。。。只是它的搭配方式要注意

a number of 许多的，其后加上复数名词做主语，谓语用复数.
the number of ...的数目。 其后加上复数名词做主语，谓语用单数.

offer sth. to sb
provide sb. with sth., provide sth. for sb

a number of 许多的
the number of ...的数目

a number of是一些的意思 没特指的，而the number of 有吧
