因为【Find out】是去查明，去发现（事情真相），这是带有主动性的。
而【find】则多表示：不经意地发现到。

举两个例句你会更明白些：
1、He woke to find himself in prison.（他醒来后发现自己在狱中。）
2、At twenty-two, he's just beginning to find himself.
（他在22岁时才逐渐发现自己的真实才能。）
