You don't often hear people shouting in the street.
这句话中为什么不把 "don't" 换成 "can't" ?
"shouting"作什么成分?

因为 do 本身就有一般现代时的意思也有强调的意思
don't 就是一般不的意思
can't是不能的意思不合语境

shouting in the street.是形容动词的应为副词！

这里讲的是日常一般活动，而不是一个人的意愿．所以不能用can't，不是不能，而是不会听到有人在街上喊．
这里shouting做people的宾语
