为什么是there are something to do而不是to be done

there is sth (for sb) to do

此处是省略了for sb，所以do是相对于sb而言，并非相对于sth而言。sb具体指什么需要看句意，一般在指for me或者for us，就会省略掉了，如果是指其他人，一般不会省略。

如：

there are some cookies to eat!
有饼干吃耶！

there is some meat for the dog to eat.
有肉可以给狗狗吃耶！

也可以说there are something to be done.
意思有所不同.
要做某事 to do (做未必完成)
要完成某事to be done

首先应该是there is something to do吧，这里用不定式来表示被动，所以不用to be done.
