People's Hospital前面要不要定冠词

一般情况下，由普通名词构成的专有名词前面应该加the，例如：
the Washington Daily, the Empire State Building, the British Airways, the Victoria Chest Hospital, the Washington D.C., etc. (本处的例词均出自张道真《现代英语用法词典》及其他经典英语语法书。
但也有许多场合并不用the，如：
34th Street, Seventh Avenue(街道名一般不用the), Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Niagara Falls, Bear Lake, Lake Eric(但the Lake of Lucerne), Niagara Falls, Jones Beach, Yale University(但the University of North Carolina, the College of the Pacific), China Daily(但the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Daily News, the Washington Post)。
加不加定冠词主要视习惯而定。也有些是根据起名者的意愿，或是人们约定俗成的称呼等。几个习惯表达须注意：
Lake ...或Mount...前一般不加the，如Lake Tai（太湖，但the Taihu Lake)，Mount Blanc, Mount Tai(泰山)。
街名、路名多不用定冠词，甚至在序数词前也不用。例词可见上文。
注意the + Lake/College/University/... of结构，这种结构一般前面要加the。
