What is the difference with 'in memory of' and 'in honor of'?

in memory of 是纪念某人某事的意思
经常电影里最后会有 in memory of our great police ,Tom
意思就是谨以此片献给我们伟大的警察 Tom
in honor of 以纪念，向 …… 表示敬意

in memory of 纪念,具有回忆意味

in honor of 缅怀,具有尊敬意味

两者在很多时候可以互用,区别不大
