杭州因美丽的风景而闻名

to当介词用常表示“方向”“结果”等。
如：
The glass was broken to pieces.
玻璃杯被打成碎片了。（结果）
France lies to the south of England.
法国位于英国的南部。

of常用于表示“所属关系 ”如：
a friend of Tom
Tom的一个朋友
