壁画作为最古老的绘画艺术，随着社会文化的不断发展，其功能性也发生了不断的变化，为了适应这种的变化，壁画的创作形式与表现手法也不断的创新。新兴的多媒体技术不仅为科学理论与社会思潮提供了前所未有的传播手段、促进了艺术形态的更新、反映了社会生活的需求,更推动了艺术研究在观念与方法上的创新。多媒体技术在壁画中的应用，使得壁画的表现力更加突出。随着多媒体技术的成熟，使得多媒体壁画不仅具有叙事性与装饰性，互动性在以后的多媒体壁画中也扮演着越来越重要的角色。本文试以新技术为研究方向，通过总结壁画的发展脉络，梳理出当代壁画发展中一种新的发展趋势。
