In recent years, the creativity of college students is always mentioned because of the fact that it is generally accepted that college students are largely deficient of the creative abilities. 近年来，谈到高等院校学生的创造力，普遍被接受的事实是高等院校的学生普遍缺乏创造力。越来越多的学生仅仅满足于了解或复制别人的想法、概念或学术成就，而不是开发一些新的属于自己的东西。
导致上述问题出现的原因，我个人的观点是，高等院校没有完整履行他们的教学责任，即培养综合的、有创造力的、合格的学生。所有的高等院校都致力于那些基本的测试，而这些测试只能迫使学生在课业上奋发图强而忽视了同步的素质培养。结果是，大多数学生没有足够的时间和精力参加创造性的活动。
鉴于上述我们需要面对的严重问题，整个社会需要采取措施加以解决。例如，高等院校应该更注重素质教育，市政府也应当建立更广泛的评估系统。
近几年来，大学生的创新能力总是被提及到，因为当代大学生在创造能力上的严重不足已经成为一个被普遍的社会事实。似乎相当数量的学生仅仅满足于理解甚至抄袭他人的思想，创意或成果，而不是自己去创造，这一数量还在不断增长。
在我看来，造成上面所述问题和问题不断增长的主要原因是，大学没有充分尽到培养普通，合格和具有创造性能力的学生的责任。所有这类大学所关注的仅仅是最基础的教学，就是那些强迫学生们为了成绩而不断学习的课业，迫使学生放弃了素质教育上的学习。结果造成大多数学生没有足够时间和精力来练习实践他们的创造能力。
我们不得不去对抗这些严重的问题，全社会要采取措施解决这个问题。例如，大学应该更多的关注素质教育，学院组织可以建立更广泛的评价系统等等。
