Owing to如同 because of或 on account of一样,是个介词,只能引导副词短语

Owing to the rain, the meeting has to be put off.
I couldn’t attend the meeting owing to illness.

due to sth/sb:
The team’s success was largely due to her efforts.
Her failure in the speech contest was due to her nervousness.
They arrived late due to the storm.

[fml] [infml]
