Starcraft was unable to switch video modes .To correct this problem,please set Desktop Area to 640*480 and Color Palette to 256 colors and try running Starcrafr again.
For Windows 95 and Windows NT
Select"Setting-Control Panel"from the "Start"menu
Run the "Display"control panel applet
Select the "Settings"tab
Set the"Desktop Area"to"640*480pxcels"
Set"Color Palette"to 256 colors
if your video card does not support 256 color mode,you will need to install the most recent DirectX video drivers for your video card.A list of video card manufactuers can be found at:

The error encountered while trying to switch video
1、首先你要确认的显卡驱动无误，可以去www.mydrivers.com驱动之家下载ATI的最新驱动，现在的驱动版本最新应该是8.4
2、你看看你的星际争霸里面是不是有个图标上写着1911，名字为setup的文件，运行后会出现Registry setup has been successfully completed!
然后运行StarCraft就可以玩了。
星际争霸是无法切换视频模式。纠正此问题，请设置桌面面积为640 * 480和调色板256色，并试着执行starcrafr再次。
