Effect of Sodium Chloride and Sodium Sulfate Condition on Seed Germination and Seedlings Growth of Alfalfa

Seeds and seedlings of seven varieties of alfalfa were treated with different concentrations of NaCl and Na_2SO_4,The results showed that the effect of the salt stress on the seed germination was nearly as same as the seedlings salt endurance.In the continuing Na_2SO_4 stress,NO.1 Xinmu is the best one;next is the Emperor;Sandely is worst.While,referring to the NaCl,stress NO.1 Xinmu is also the best one;The next is Xinjiangdaye;Venal is the weakest.Under the stress of NaCl and Na_2SO_4 critical level of seed germination was 99-141 mmol/L and 28-70 mmol/L.
