UC知道有关原因和结果的英语短语辨析

是区别还要求知道如何应用在什么样的句型里。
因为在自考本科课程英语科技文选的练习里出现，用这些短语连接句子。我做错80%。。没感觉。第一组result from 总共有6个, 某个句子可以选用其中5个，而还有的句子选用4个，就不知道为什么有的能用有的不能用了。。
所以肯定有区别.
下面是第二组 lead to，在网上找到答案基本上也理解现在补充到这里。希望谁能继续把第一组讲讲。
cause, bring about, lead to, result in, give rise to
这几个词都含有“带来…的结果”之意。其区别在于：
1. cause 强调施事者是造成某种结果的直接原因。如：
The flood caused much damage.
2. bring about 表示施事者为了获得某种结果而有目的地行动。如：
The Liberals wish to bring about changes in the electoral system.
3. lead to 表示造成某种情形或结果的逐步变化过程。如：
The storm led to serious floods.
4. result in 表示意想不到的结果。如：
Smoking too much will result in sickness.
5. give rise to 有指导致坏事或坏的结果之意。
His poor performance gave rise to the challenge from his boss .
