根据作者对国内近五年休闲相关文献的分析，目前我国休闲旅游研究主要集中在休闲旅游内涵的研究，休闲旅游的重要意义和发展前景的研究,休闲旅游发展障碍和解决途径的研究，休闲旅游产品开发现状与发展对策的研究等几个方面。
笔者对我国休闲旅游研究的现状进行了评述，并对今后我国休闲旅游研究提出了几点建议：不断丰富休闲旅游研究的内容；加快休闲旅游市场培育；设计高水准的休闲旅游产品；加大对外宣传力度；重视休闲旅游研究方法的改进；重视休闲教育的开展；从旅游与休闲发展的实际情况出发,支持旅游与休闲产业的结合发展。
