By taking a cross-culture view, this Paper sets forth the development of numerical conception and the cultural meaning behind figures, and makes detailed comparison for some figures that are special. Based on that, the Paper provides the principles and methodologies to be followed in figure translation, in hope that we will avoid such mistakes in future study and work to get better translation results.
