一个句子划分的问题

动名词的主动形式表被动意义时，动名词做什么句子成分？
例如：the clothes need washing 和Your hair needs cutting．
washing和cutting做什么成分？
我感觉是做宾补，但语法书上讲动名词不做补语，如果是接在实义动词need后做表语，但语感又不对，那么做什么成分呢？

做宾语啊！washing 作为动名词，已经具备名词的词性了，所以是宾语

这是一个need的特殊用法，简单的说就是
sth need doing =sth need to be done
如the clothes need washing= the clothes need to be washed
Your hair needs cutting.= Your hair needs to be cut.
