首先说你原句本身的错误。第一The doctor 是第三人称单数，而动词operate居然没加s？第二明明时间是two days later，为什么谓语动词不用将来时？
再来说说改写，operate是不及物动词，所以在原句中，the man前，加了一个介词on。被动语态的概念，本身就是“助动词be＋及物动词的过去分词”。所以此题中的operate不能直接改为operated。如真要改为被动语态，则需换另一个词。
