Upon completion of the test, both men missed only one of the questions. 翻译一下，Upon在这里是什么意思，有什么作用，去掉它可以吗？

upon = when 但是时间性更强，持续性更短 实际上 = right at the time 的意思，做介词用，表时间。不能去掉，就好象我们说 when I was talking to him, it started raining. 一样， when 不能去掉，当然 when 是副词，带了一个句子，而 upon带一个名词短语。
Upon arriving at the airport, the speaker announced my boarding time. 我一到飞机场，就听见喇叭里广播我的登机时间。

不能去掉，因为可以突出他们在考试结束后才知道有一道题目没有做！
