是要用：
Where is his friend live?
还是说：
Where does his friend live ?
为什么呢？？ 说详细些吧~。

因为live是实义动词，在一般现在时里，实义动词在构成疑问句时，要加助动do,单数第三人称用does.在这里his friend是单数第三人称。
第一句不能有两个谓语动词，
where is his friend living?
where does his friend live?
where does his friend live? 是对的.
live 是动词啊, 不能用is来提问.
应该是Where does his friend live?这句话的回答可以是:His friend lives in China.是把does提前,lives回归原形提问.
设想一下,假如Where is his friend live?是对的,回答就是His friend is live in China.这是错误的,因为英语中没有这种时态.当然你可以说His friend is living in China,这是对的,是现在进行时,但提问就是Where is his friend living?了.
