in their car的意思不大理解,是不是这种搭配等于类似by car的意思？

通常英语里是不用 by car的

乘坐小汽车 都是用 in 这个是固定搭配

比如 bus要用on

to get away in their car 用他们的车逃
to get away by car 用车逃
就这个意思，别钻牛脚尖

类似，但意思稍有不同，in their car 强调的是跑到他们的车里想逃掉。而 by car 只是强调逃跑的方法
