that 从句要修饰宾语，或至少修饰名词(或名词组)，this is that里面没有宾语，没有名词，所以不能用that。because xxx 整个就是宾语。有This is because ....的句型，“这是因为。。。”的意思。

没记错好象是this is+(sth)+that+........

the reason is that...
or: this is because...

因为有This is because的用法，而没有This is that的用法。记住就行了。
