拥有美国工作许可的人，都可以申请SSN,学生无法申请

补充：
大学里面在STUDENT ADMINISTRATION部门有协助申请一个SSN号码用于校内或者申请电话等，不过这个号码不能在外打工.当你毕业后，学校会给你一个好像叫OPT的签证，你可以在美国合法工作一年，当然，其间有很多机会获取身份。

SSN学生可以申请。
先在校内申请打工，学校会帮你办理SSN，然后就ok了。

A Social Security Number is for employment purposes only. You will need to have a written job offer from an Ohlone department and a letter from the Office of International Programs and Services. You take these letters with your passport and Ohlone I-20 to apply for a Social Security Number.
