看看老外说的一句话，有没有问题

Think of failure that way, as long as you try your very best even though it may not be as good in comparsion to other people, you tried your best.

问题
may not be 是不是不符合语法规则啊？应该may be not 吗？
不是说 I am not a 。。。

那怎么不是may be not。。。呢？

口语中，语法都无所谓了，只要能听明白就行了

可能因为是口语，所以有些地方可能省略了几个词
比如:think of failure in that way,用那种方式来看待失败
you have tried your best，用一般过去时tried就与开头的一般现在时think相矛盾了。
愚见

may not be 完全符合语法规则。

may not be是对的
may be not是错的

may be是一个词组
如果是否定形式的话就应该变成may not be
就跟 try to be 的否定形式是try not to be一样...

符合语法规则，不应该是may be not，含义不同
may not be =未必是
may be not是一个错误的说法，maybe not 是正确的语法，may和be 分开的时候，not要放在be前面
