经济重要：the urgent task is to develop economy on a large scale. Surely they have very good reasons to support their viewpoints. China is still a developing country. Although we have made great progress in improving the lives of the people since the open-up policy was adopted in late 1970s, the living standard of our people is still rather low compared to that of the western countries. In some of the poverty-stricken areas, some people even can’t manage to get enough food to feed their families. Many poor children at school age have to drop out of school just because their families can’t afford the tuition fees.
