Abstract
Translation by nature is a cross-cultural communicative activity. It’s well recognized as one of the most demanding jobs. In Chinese-English translation, the translators forever face how to deal with the linguistic phenomenon and cultural phenomenon as well. To adopt domestication or foreignization is a long-lasting debate in translation academic circle. This article, by differentiating the term between “China English” and “Chinglish” from culture-turn perspective, tries to braze a new trail: The policy employed in Chines-English should be domestication lingually and foreignization culturally. In other words, we should retain as many Chinese culture-loaded elements in translated versions as possible but at the same time avoid Chinglish to obstacle the the smooth communication.
