今天我要说的就是菲比斯的家庭。他的父亲是一名警察，母亲是一名小学教师，他还有两名姐姐。这原本应该是一个很幸福的家庭，但很不幸的，在他七岁那年，他的父母离异，从此，他就跟著母亲和两姐姐生活。值得庆幸的是，虽然这个家庭失去了父亲，但依然很温馨很幸福。后来，当他长大后，独自搬到马里兰州居住，加上他经常要到各地比赛，很少机会和家人见面。但这依然没有影响他们的感情，他们经常以电话联络，而且一定会以”我爱你”作为结尾。
比较少人知道的是，在他的独居生活中还有一名特别的家人陪伴他。它就是他的狗—Hermen。每当他回家的时候它都会摇著尾巴迎接他，而且每次菲比斯有空的时候都会和他一起玩。他的姐姐甚至在访问中说，他最喜喜做的事就是游泳和陪hermen玩。
