教学过程中，教师总是带着某种情感在教，学生也总是带着某种情感在学。所谓情感教学，从根本意义上说，就是指教师在教学过程中充分考虑认知因素的同时，充分发挥情感因素的积极作用，用它来完善教学目的、增强教学效果的教学。当代美国心理学家卡尔.罗杰斯认为：教师职业状态应该是“以情投入，和谐一致，尊重学生”。要建立良好的师生情感关系，教师必须真情付出，关心爱护每一个学生。因为青少年有着极其敏锐的精神世界，他们获得知识是靠老师的智慧和行动，教师情感上的细微变化，学生都会立即察觉。因此，教师在工作中要利用教室已有的名人挂图，或讲述著名科学家的故事来激起学生的浓厚兴趣，从而激励他们开拓进取，树立成功的自信心，（也就是说我们在提倡“挫折教育”的同时更应该发展“成就感”的教育。）这句话是否与前段不吻合？不如干脆去掉？
2、调动学生学习英语的积极性
英语学习，兴趣为先。《心理学》中指出：“对学科内容本身的兴趣在教学活动中的作用是特别大的。学习的兴趣，也是产生学习自觉性的最好动力，如果对所学的学科本身感到兴趣，效果会更好。”（故而）因此，学生学习语言能力的高低在很大程度上受制于英语学习兴趣的程度。兴趣是最好的老师，兴趣也是推动学生学习的内在动力，是调动学生学习积极性比较可行的有效方法。农村的孩子虽然从小没有学习英语的环境，但他们（也是稚气未脱，）处于活泼好动的年龄阶段，也喜欢新鲜的事物，对英语也有种好奇心理。在课堂上他们往往具有双重心态：一方面他们羡慕老师，渴望自己也能讲上几句；另一方面却又羞于开口。教师要充分认识到这一点，既要消除他们的紧张畏惧情绪又要不断地满足学生好奇、好动、好乐、好玩的生理和心理发展需要，学生一旦有了激情，他们就不再会厌恶和害怕学习，而是乐在其中，从而促进了学生从“要我学”向“我要学”方面的转化。
