用are还是is

are

不过个人倾向以“A friend is...”开头，这个貌似更常见，更符合习惯。

Five dollars is a huge amount of money. 没错
名词不同。

Friends is merely a thing to show off 。
因为后面是 a thing

这个问题我在高中的课本里遇见过，当时问老师，老师说“学一种语言不能太拘泥于语法，很多时候是凭语感的”。

are 因为are 是复数，Friends也是复数
IS 是单数啊

are啊，friends是复数啊。再说后面的thing也没加s

are, 如果用FRIENDS， 就用ARE， FRIEND 就用IS

应该是are，因为friends是复数
