D: What seems to be the problem?

P: I feel rather weak these days.

D: Hm. You're looking a bit yellow. Have you been eating normally?

P: No, I 've lost my appetite recently.

D: I see. How long have you felt like this?

P: I really noticed it last week but I've felt unwell for...er...almost 3 weeks.

D: Put this thermometer under your tongue, please. (a few minutes later) You've got a bit of a fever. Have you had any pain in the liver?

P: You mean here? Sometimes there seems to be a kind of dull ache.

D: Can you lie down on that couch so I can check it? ... Do you feel any pain here now?

P: Yes, it hurts when you press down on it. What's wrong with me, doctor?

D: Well, your liver is a bit larger than normal. It looks like you've got hepatitis.

P: Oh my God! It's infectious, isn't it?
