清明节起源于春秋战国时代，是中国汉族的传统节日，至今已有2500多年的历史，农历4月五日前后为清明节，是二十四节气之一，清明的前一天称寒食节。两节恰逢阳春三月，春光明媚，桃红柳绿，一派欣欣向荣的气象，所以民间又称三月节。清明寒食期间，民间有禁火寒食、祭祖扫墓、踏青郊游等习俗。另外还有荡秋千、放风筝、拔河、斗鸡、戴柳、斗草、打球等传统活动。使清明成为一个富有诗意，纪念祖上的节日。

每年农历八月十五日，是传统的中秋佳节。这时是一年秋季的中期，所以被称为中秋。在中国的农历里，一年分为四季，每季又分为孟、仲、季三个部分，因而中秋也称仲秋。中秋之夜，除了赏月、祭月、吃月饼，有些地方还有舞草龙，砌宝塔等活动。除月饼外，各种时令鲜果干果也是中秋夜的美食。此夜，人们仰望如玉如盘的明月，自然会期盼家人团聚。远在他乡的游子，也借此寄托自己对故乡和亲人的思念之情。所以，中秋又称“团圆节”。

重阳节，起源于战国时代，是一个欢乐的日子。这一天，重阳佳节活动极为丰富，有登高、赏菊、喝菊花酒、放风筝、吃重阳糕、插茱萸等等。今天的重阳节，被赋予了新的含义，在1989年，我国把每年的九月九日定为老人节，传统与现代巧妙地结合，成为尊老、敬老、爱老、助老的老年人的节日。老人们在这一天或赏菊以陶冶情操，或登高以锻炼体魄，给桑榆晚景增添了无限乐趣。
