关于定语从句
He isn't the man ___he used to be.(答案是that,为什么？其他的行不行）
The gentleman ___you told me yesterday proved to be a thief.
(答案about whom ...）

1.选that是因为这是一个定语从句,当先行词在从句中作表语时关系代词用that.如:China is no longer the country that she used to be .
2.选about whom 的原因是这是一个由介词+关系代词引导的定语从句,从句中有一固定短语即,tell somebody about something,原句意思是you told me about the gentleman
1. 他不再是以前的那个人了
the man 是先行词，that 做used to be 的宾语 （指人， 不能用which)
2. 你昨天告诉我的那个人是个小偷
tell sb about something 固定搭配 whom 是介词about的宾语 用宾格
第一个用that 因为the man
第二个是定语从句，变成顺序语序you told me about whom（指gentleman）
1.定语从句 that是关系词 省略也行
2.tell sb about……和某人谈论关于……
whom代替gentleman，在从句中做宾语 所以是宾格
you told me about the gentleman
man前有一个the,必须用that.
tell about sth/sb是固定短语,sb是宾语,whom是who的宾语形式,问句时要用whom
