In this study, single and multilevel fatigue strength tests were performed with the following parameters:
A normal distributed coincidence-sequence,
A spectrum with the length of 5.10 cycles,
An irregularity factor of I=0.99,
A stress ratio of R=-1and R=0(Ref.11).
One-axial loads as well as proportional and nonproportional multiaxial loads such as torsion and bending with and without phase shift (d= 0 deg and d=90 deg) were applied to the welded conxtruction samples. Flange to tube joints of the type frequently used in practice were made with and without joint preparation (Hv and Hyweld ) with GMAW , as given in Fig.3.All samples were stress relieved after welding in order to exclude the possible influence of residual stresses. All welded joints were examined for joint failures. A hyduarlic cylinder and levers were used to make the load application for bending and torsion separately in each case.
