1）a one-room cabin 表示一个只有一间房间的小木屋，one-room修饰名词cabin，作用类似于a small cabin里的small。
如果要表达木屋里面的一个房间可以说 he was born in one of the rooms in the cabin....这种表达就比较便扭
2）in 1983和in the year 1983没有本质区别， 都表示在1983年，后者的表达比较正规。

我觉得1的句子应该是他1983年出生在一个房间的木屋.
2,一,是在1983年中.第二个是在1983年.

1) 一居室的小木房

2)意思一样.
