1.The man who injured his leg in a traffic accident was still in hospital.
这里的injured 前为什么不用had 表示，过去的过去？？
2.Letting my mother downis the last thing in the world that I want.
这里的the last thing 是什么意思？
3.A chance talk with a foreigner may lead to a person to discover how little he knows of another country.
这里的a chance 后面不是应该加 to 吗？？

1，用过去完全时的话，表示已发生的事与现在没有关系了，而作者的意图是想表示伤腿这件事还没有过去；
2，the last thing in the world是一种很常用的用法，意思是某人最不愿意做的一件事；
3，chance是名词，与动词连接时后面是不加to的，其实chance与talk之间是省略了that的，（that) talk with a foreigner是一个从句，用来修饰主语chance。

had表示过去已经，后面一般要有时间标志词如since，for。。。
如果用had翻译不太通畅，那个过去已经伤了腿的男人仍在医院，所以还是用过去式好。
2.最后一件事,这里指也可以最想做的一件事

3.应该有to的，我觉得句子肯定有问题

1.这里的injured 前不用had，
who injured his leg作The man的后置定语表示受过伤的人。
2.这里的the last thing 是指“我最不想做的事情”
3.这里的a chance 后面应该加 to ，但是具体口语中往往可以根据实际情况省略。

2,让我妈妈投降(服输)是我在世上希望(想要)的最后一件事了,
就是"最后一件事的意思"
3.不能加,后面talk with a foreigner是做a chance 的定语,这里不是用短语
