花费时间做某样事情用spend吗？

可以用spend.

人+spend+时间+on sth
或人+spend+时间+in doing sth
都可以表示某人花时间做某事

spend some time in doing sth.主语常常是人,指某人花了多少时间做某事;
也可以用take,主语常是事物,某件事占用了(某人)多少时间.
eg:
I spended two days in preparing the party.
等同于
It took me two days to prepare the party.

可以这样：
spend sometime do/(in) doing sth
It takes somebody sometime to do sth

是的可以，后可加介词in on
