Deng Yaping was born in February 2nd, 1973. She started to play table tennis in 1978. In 1983, she joined the Henan table tennis team. Five years later, she joined the national table tennis team. In 1997, she went to Tsinghua Univerity and majored in Engliah and management. Between 1993 and 1998, she became the number one women's single player in the ITTF.
