rather 意思有“ 相当,颇,有点儿”,与此经常用的近意词是“quite”、“fairly”。但是为什么这里用rather 呢?是因为:
当强调的对象是“好的、褒义的”的时候一般都用fairly,quite则比较中性,而rather连接的对象则是“不好的,带贬义的对象”所以用rather.
