ChaoZhou lies in East Guangdong, neighboring Fujian Province in the northeast,adjoining Meizhou in the north, Jieyang in the west and Shantou Special Economic Zone in the south. It has a coastline facing the South China Sea.Its two rivers, Hanjiang and Huanggang, run through the whole area.

The city covers a total area of 3,613.9 Square km,with land 3,080.9 square km, sea 533 square km and a coastline of l36 km.Chaozhou is of subtropical marine monsoon climate with an average ambient temperature of 21.4 and an average Precipitation of l685.8 mm annually.
