Under the ebay user agreement,once a member places a bid,that member is bound to perform on the resulting contract if that bid turns out to be the high bid.(There are some exceptions to this policy;they are covered instead by the"Non-Binding Bid Policy,"which applies to specific types of assets such as real property.)As a general rule,bids are not retractable,so eBay encourages members to scrutinize offers carefully before placing a bid.
If a member believes that the description of an item has changed,or thr member is unable to confirm the identity of the seller,then the member may retract the bid without violating eBay's user agreement.
