while是否只可以跟过去进行时?

如,While I was cooking the dinner, he set in the dining room.
可不可以
I was cooking the dinner, while he sat in the dining room.

不可以。while引导时间状语从句时候，后面只能是进行时时态。

只有while引导对比状语从句时，不需要用进行时，比如I like football while he likes basketball.

不是。如：i am having breakfast while seeing bikini girls
