UC知道the rest不是单数主语吗，那后面为什么要用are?

the rest 不是单纯的表示单数主语
而是要看它代的词是可数还是不可数。
The rest of the people are...
The rest of the water is ...
rest= 剩余的，
所以是复数
The rest表示的是"其它学生",而学生是复数
the rest用单复数要看表示什么
因为是学生students 所以要用复数
the rest of 是剩余的其他的的意思一般是复数主语，故用are
