我觉得这里的‘to'应该是表目的，如果选D，理解成他去城市去乘火车 ，这意思显然没有去看朋友 这个意思好，对吧，当然，语法上完全没有错误
可以从中文的角度想，题是：他去城市去。。。所以翻译通顺就是他去城市去看一个朋友。选D的话，take前面不用加to。
它写的是One day he went to a city by train，是他乘火车去一个城市。后面He wanted to see one of his friends there，看那儿的一个朋友是他去那个城市的目的。所以当然是B咯，很简单的拉。
