答案是选B，可是修饰人口不是用larger的吗？

我懂了，我以为the population is doubled了，谢谢各位！我把分献给第一个让我懂的人，主要我比较笨，前面几位说的固然正确但我没听懂~

more than是指程度不仅仅的意思，是个副词，不是比较级，这里就是故意混淆你
用larger不对，因为句子里有动词has doubled，larger需要和系动词连用

这个more than 是修饰doubled的,楼上说的对

修饰人口确实是large，large population。但这句话是说倍数的。

doubled是指人口数量

首先，我们可以觉得应该用larger，确实，它可以修饰population，但是，这只是 大海中的一滴水！！ 英语很丰富，你还不理解，我给你讲解：The population of many Alaskan citis has more than doubled in the past five years.
简单翻译：人口比过去5年多了2倍多。你看：The population of many Alaskan citis 阿拉斯加的很多城市的人口数目，has more than doubled ：已经多了两倍多。 in the past five years. ：在过去5年。你看分出来看就知道了……

这里虽然是population，但是因为是doubled，应当是一种number的含义在里面，population这个相对抽象的词自然无法double了。所以number应当选B
