B it 指代acciden和damage
It frightened me so much that I almost gave up driving ever since.
A 过去时 我本应告诉他。。。但是我那时很忙

首先搞清主语accident and damage,谓语frighten.
resulted in 是个定语从句修DAMAGE，
然后再看：result in 是要接宾语的而没有接，就是说宾语就是被修的词damage，全句是damage that it resulted in ,就是事故所导致的破坏。it 指代前面的accident.
