我选的是A，答案是D，河流是真正流淌的为什么选D呢，请解释一下，谢谢！

1. 答案的确是D.

2. 关键在于本句是个变形的there be句型。此处必须填入能做谓语的动词。
而如果选A的话，单独的现在分词flowing是不能做谓语的。

给楼主举个类似的there be变形句型：
eg. There lived a tiger in the forest. 在森林里住着一只老虎。

3. 另外，此处的flowed并不表什么被动，而是谓语动词flow的过去式(因为句子是一般过去时)而已。

4. 如果表示主动而用现在分词，该句可以改写成：
There was a rapid river flowing between the two hills.
句子谓语还是was，而flowing between the two hills只是做后置定语修饰a rapid river.

其实..我也觉得应该选A..

河本身不能发出Flow这个动作，所以要被动
