political --balance of power changed. WWI had Triple Alliance and Triple Entente and WWII had different alliances, Allies vs. Axis. Britain was no longer the power it used to be, instead United States is rising to be the great power (I think this applies more to WWII though)

social --globalization became more intensified, which led to easier communication and easier access to information in other areas of the world

economic changes --the great powers are more dependent upon each other economically, more interdependence due to an increase in trade, imports and exports. Also, mention about the gold standard.

All those changed affected the world because now the world is smaller because all the countries are tied up more due to globalization. It's faster to reach another part of the world due to technology and industrialization.
