自从有了“英语和电脑是21世纪的入场券”一说之后，中小学的英语教材一直在更新，英语教育环境越来越受到人们的关注，英语教学法也从语法翻译法，口语法发展到交际法等，不断地创新。
传统的教学法最初是语法翻译法，即通过传授英语的语法结构，培养初学者的语法结构意识来掌握语言。如"He has a book."中许多学生知道第三人称一般现在时该用"has"，但是当学生一开口，还是"has"与"have"不分，单复数不分，甚至有的学生还会"he" "she"不分。
而现代的交际教学法(communicative approach) 侧重语言的形式，强调的是语言系统知识的掌握和运用。[1]成人化的日常用语，如问路、购物、谈生意，又超出儿童的知识范围和理解能力，儿童同样无法接受。
本人通过教育实习期间对英语教学法的一些应用，对英语教学法有了一定的认识和了解，个人认为TPR教学法在这些英语教学法当中有一定的优势。现就我在英语教学中采用这种方法的初步感受谈几点体会。
