福特为什么巨亏也不要资助？

刚刚在一份周报上看到一个不是新闻的新闻，说的是福特的游说律师帮通用和克莱斯勒做美国政府的工作，为两家企业争取联邦贷款。但自己却不要政府援助。
我是名学生，看了半天这新闻没看懂福特为什么这样做，所以想上网请教一下。谢谢

另：我在报纸上只找到一句我还看不懂的原因：“福特这一表态最大的好处就是，市场对福特品牌认可度和忠诚度的提升”。可不可以简单说明一下这句话。

如果要政府资助的话，会收到国会或纳税人的很多限制，比如要求工人降低工资或管理降低年薪。
还有的市场开拓计划或经营计划都要受到政府的制约。

"We don't want to borrow any more money. We have sufficient liquidity to fund our transformation plan, which means our business is in a relatively good shape," Mulally told reporters on the sidelines of the National Automobile Dealers Association convention.
福特认为自己有足够的流动资金解决他的重组问题...百年老店..还是有实力的...

大概同病相怜或是唇亡齿寒吧；
表现一下，福特资金链没有问题，当然有好处喽。

这么高的层次，非一般散户能猜测。。。

FT此举向市场显示了FT自身有能力抵御金融冲击。使FT的投资人坚挺对FT投资的信念。
