As you are aware, due to the global financial downturn, our ability to operate with a full complement of staff is no longer feasible. In order to make workforce adjustments, we are offering a Voluntary Retirement Allowance to those individuals who are of an age to which they may be interested in leaving the company to peruse other interests or work(age 60 plus).
The company wants to stress that this incentive is in no means forcing anyone to leave and this option IS TOTALLY VOLUNTARY AND UP TO YOU TO DECIDE. You may wish to review your options with your representative from the Union as well.
